VINTAGE Wild Leica M5 Stereo Microscope M5D Working but Imperfect. The Wild / Leica M5 is a very versatile and modular stereo microscope with 4 position magnifier.

This original M5 is still one of the most sought after stereo scopes considered by many users to be the best stereo scopes ever made partly due to unusually wide spaced stereo lens assemblies and partly due to the robust precision construction. It permits mounting a wide variety of binocular observation tubes, accessory camera ports, drawing tubes and other accessories on the head and multi-position objective.

The M5 is a most convenient system for high quality viewing and is manufactured by WILD in Switzerland. I have provided pictures for you to make your own judgment on what is included and the condition of this item. I will describe the item as best as I can based on visual inspection and my knowledge of the item. This microscope includes a pair of original Wild 10x/ Eyepieces, a standard inclined viewing head, and a basic Wild stand with a mirror illumination system and proper glass stage plate.

The focus and support is the 5D version which offers increased depth between the post and optical axis. Also included is a vintage 120 volt illuminator for incident illumination and a power supply for the 6 volt substage illuminator. The focus control does have some unevenness due to wear but is fully functional. The magnification changer is smooth and precise.

The Optics are OK but a cleaning might be warranted as this is an old microscope. There are cosmetic marks due to age and use. Image quality is still excellent. Please understand that as with all vintage or scientific equipment I may not have the ability or knowledge to fully test equipment for functionality beyond what is stated in my description and my observations but I do my best to describe the unit accurately.
